Contact Corporation Awarded Telescopic Mast System Contracts for U.S. Army WIN-T

Contact Corporation was awarded two separate contracts by Lockheed Martin Information Systems & Global Solutions to supply telescopic antenna mast systems for the U.S. Army’s Warfighter Information Network - Tactical (WIN-T) program. The first contract calls for the supply of five trailer-mounted 30 meter (100 feet) mast systems for the Tactical Relay - Tower (TR-T) component of the WIN-T system.  The second contract calls for the supply of forty 10 meter (33 feet) "push-button" mast systems for the WIN-T Tactical Communications Node (TCN). The new contracts bring the total quantities of TR-Ts and TCN systems ordered from Contact for the development and Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) phases of the WIN-T program to 11 and 92 respectively.

The 30m TR-T is a commercial-off-the-shelf tactical mast trailer system privately developed by Contact based on the Army's standard (model) lightweight trailer.  The system includes a 30m quick-erect telescopic mast, tactical quiet generator, power distribution system, and many other key features which allow for its safe, efficient, and user-friendly operation. The 10m mast system includes a remotely operated mast which requires no guying, supported by a Contact-designed mounting frame which allows the mast to be easily tilted horizontally for transport or vertically for deployment. Both the 30m and 10m systems can safely deploy on sloping grounds, survive 80 mph wind speeds, and are fully tested to and compliant with MIL-STD-810F.

The work, which will primarily be performed in Winchester, Virginia, is scheduled for completion by the end of the 4th quarter of 2011.
